In this world of social media, AI and sound bites, it can be difficult to discern truth from fiction. Posts and pictures – real or not – spread like wildfire and the more they gain traction, the more they are believed. This page will be updated periodically with examples of some of the current “Alternative Facts” being touted as truths.

Illegal aliens are the leading cause of violent crimes in America.

Truth

According to the US Census Bureau and FBI, in 2023 there were 1,218,467 violent crimes (Assault, Domestic Violence, Robbery, Homicide, Sexual Offense) committed in the United States. Out of the 1.2 million violent crimes, 2,431 were committed by illegal aliens. That is .19% of the total. In other words, less than 1% of violent crimes were committed by illegal aliens.

Trump’s Truth Social Post on July 26, 2025 declared, “Democrats paid Beyonce $11 million for an endorsement.

Truth

Federal Election Commission disclosures show that on Nov. 19, 2024, then-Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign paid Beyoncé’s production company $165,000 for "campaign event production." There are no other Harris campaign payments to Beyoncé, her production company and her publicist.

The 2021 bill extended broadband access in all states and was created to benefit low-income households, people 60 and older, veterans, people with disabilities, people in rural areas and many others.

Trump stated in an April 29, 2025 interview, “If people come into our country illegally, there’s a different standard” for due process.

Truth

The U.S. Constitution, legal experts and decades of court decisions agree: Immigrants in the U.S., regardless of how they entered the U.S., legally or illegally, have due process rights. The due process immigrants are afforded varies depending on how long a person has been in the U.S. and their legal status. Legal experts say there are no exceptions to due process for immigrants.
